Casino Royale- the future 007
For once, let me start from the end to tell you that the movie is GREAT!!!
And now, let me tell you why.

Every era had its James Bond.
The real “fans” of the lucky serial inspired from the books of Ian Fleming have always looked suspiciously at the changing of the actors playing the famous secret agent.
Of course, after Sean Connery (unique and irreplaceable), George Lazenby (the meteor) Roger Moore (as Big Gym, not one single hair out of place), Thimothy Dalton (his movies were great, but he was not really coming through) and Pierce Brosnan (the top model, arrogant) choosing the new James Bond was a really hard task.
I remember that when I first heard the name Daniel Craig, as many of you, I went checking his biography and previous movies, and checking his pictures on internet I was really doubtful of the choice.
But the production was sending “reassuring” messages, like:”be patient and trust us, he will be a great James Bond”…
After a long waiting, I finally watched the movie, and was pleasantly and extremely surprised.
Daniel Craig is playing the most famous secret agent in the world in an outstanding way. His James Bond is very “physical, rude”, naughty but still “green”, effective but a bit clumsy…
Casino Royale is therefore like a new starting of the James Bond era.
The plot is also perfect, as besides the usual action scenes, for the first time you can really understand the real personality of James Bond, including his good and bad sides.
It’s the first time that a poker game in a movie lasts more than 30 minutes, but you feel tensed during all of it, as if the money were yours…
Eva Green also fits perfectly the part of the gorgeous girl, although she looks like a material, real girl.
Personally, I believe the moment where she looks ore attractive is when she looks at herself in the mirror, almost without make up…a NORMAL, but gorgeous girl!
Giancarlo Nannini is perfect, as always…
The actor Mads Mikkelsen plays a “bad gut”, enriched with many details, but not particularly extravagant (I found it great when he sais that “there’s no particular mystery behind the drop of blood that sometimes runs out his eye”.)
In the magnificent car Aston Martin DBS, you can understand that there are many secret machineries, but you don’t really see them (apart from the double drawer in the door on the passenger’s side), and I really believe we won’t miss them!
Last but not Least, the scenes shot on Italian settings (awesome), Lake Como and Venice are extremely real, and fit perfectly in the other settings of the movie (an effect which is extremely hard to get).
In conclusion…a “real” movie, with a real character which is definitely worth watching!!!

A GREAT movie!!!
